The Australian National Preventive Mechanism has published its 2024-25 Annual Report

On Friday 3 July the ACT National Preventive Mechanism (NPM), represented by its three member heads of agency, appeared before the Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs References Committee as part of its inquiry into Australia's youth justice and incarceration system.

The ACT NPM participated in the ACT Youth Justice Forum – Developing a Strategic Purpose & Model of Care for Youth Detention

Today the ACT National Preventive Mechanism (NPM) and the Commonwealth NPM made 30 recommendations to ACT Policing after joint visits to the ACT Watch House and 5 ACT Police Stations
